“This is the most important book that every Christian should have after the Bible,” Dr. Sikkakane, a former Tyndale University College professor, declared on the first day of my missions class in 1994. He was referring to Operation World.
Allan and I recently purchased the updated version of this book, Operation World, 21st Century Edition by Patrick Johnstone and Jason Mandryk. It was copyrighted in 2001 but updated twice in 2006. We determined to pray through it together as often as we could. We have discovered the wonderful joy of praying for other countries of the world. God has opened our eyes to see the great need in other parts of the world. God has taught me through this book that most of our world lives in poverty, chaos, political uncertainty and spiritual depravity. He has also taught me the hope of answered prayer. It is amazing to see the many prayer needs answered since the older 1993 version of Operation World was published. God is answering the prayer of His Church and changing the political, socio-economic and spiritual climate of this world.
I strongly recommend this book, Operation World, 21st Century Edition. This reference book is the best compilation of geographic, spiritual and historical statistics of each country for the purpose of prayer. Detailed prayer items will be listed for a particular region of the world each day, so you can pray intelligently for the world. Won’t you join God in His global redemptive work by praying through Operation World, 21st Century Edition?

How to Pray for Healing
“Bible-believing Christians certainly acknowledge that God is all-powerful. They use, without hesitation, the theological term “omnipotent” when describing God. However, we in [North] America sometimes have a difficult time bringing a practical application of this belief into our daily lives. Even in life-giving churches, the great majority of members rarely, if ever, see sick people instantly healed when they pray for them... read more
