Article from PrayGTA - The Business Gate

by Josephine Kok and May Tan

I have been dreaming of righteous men and women of godly influence who will occupy and sit at the Business Gate. This call is not so easily understood by the Church. It challenges each believer to embrace a higher purpose other than simply just wanting their own business or career to be blessed. At the same time, it can be stretching for those who are just being exposed to what marketplace ministry is and to see business as one’s calling.

The decisions that the business community makes affect the city in numerous ways. If we want our city to be blessed, then righteous men and women must occupy and sit at the Business Gate. This is where the Church must step up in response to God’s call to serve the city in the trade or work they are doing.

The Business Gate is one sphere of influence where wealth is created and spread. In the words of Loren Cunningham, business includes science and technology, productivity, sales and service. This age in which we are living, can be the generation that will discover scientific breakthroughs in research which can have a global effect. Kingdom business owners anointed to create wealth can also mentor those who will come alongside to learn kingdom business principles. Our city can be transformed through the realm of business.

This means that no matter what kind or level of work you are doing, you are entitled to sit at the Business Gate. Jesus says from the days of John the Baptist until now that the kingdom of God has been forcefully advancing and forceful men lay hold of it. Matthew 11:12. The kingdom of God is within us. We need not be afraid of Babylon and the world’s practices.

Business leaders and workplace believers must know that they have a destiny and purpose to be fulfilled in their mission field for God’s Kingdom. Because we are God’s sent ones for the work, it is important that we have a Kingdom mind-set with the King’s strategy in occupying the Business Gate.

Ask God for the Business Gate in your city. At the same time, let Jesus ride your `donkey` (business) for His Kingdom purpose.

Pray for revelation to “See, Go in, and Possess” the Kingdom of God together. (Deut.2:31). What does God see about Business in your area? He is calling us to work together, so we can rule with Him in the midst of darkness. And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. - Revelation 5:10 KJV

As we focus on Him and obey what He is saying to all of us, let’s pray we can be fully released to express Christ’s creative, sustaining, redeeming and sovereign work in the marketplace. Let the world see Christ revealed in us and be changed by His Presence as He makes us one in heart and spirit. Let’s possess the Business Gate together to manifest Heaven’s purposes on earth.

How to Pray for Healing
“Bible-believing Christians certainly acknowledge that God is all-powerful. They use, without hesitation, the theological term “omnipotent” when describing God. However, we in [North] America sometimes have a difficult time bringing a practical application of this belief into our daily lives. Even in life-giving churches, the great majority of members rarely, if ever, see sick people instantly healed when they pray for them... read more
