“See the Morning” by Chris Tomlin
CD Review (Kang Kim)
Year after year Chris Tomlin continues to produce music that soars through every spectrum of the Christian world. His songs are all over the Christian radio, Churches, Internet, magazines and anything you could think of related to music. Would you believe he was featured in “TIME Magazine” because his music is sung so often in congregations every week? I’m not surprised.
See the Morning is another CD that contains great songs from beginning to end. The reason I enjoy this CD is because, every song points to Jesus, and makes me think of Jesus. From personal worship to congregational worship, every song can be sung in any situation. Each song on the CD makes me think of God and how awesome and wonderful God is. I read an interview article on his website from Asbury Herald where he said “The gospel is about freedom, and there is something about singing that gives freedom into the soul in the midst of the worst kind of oppression. It’s amazing how the most oppressed people find freedom in song.” Freedom is what I think about and feel when I sing. It’s what I feel about this CD as well. I believe this is the reason why we sing so many of his songs; it brings freedom during worship and helps the worshiper see the truth about God.
When I bought this CD, I bought it with 4 others. This is the CD that I’ve listened to the most and for the longest time. We have already sung six songs from this CD, and possibly more to come. If I had to choose a favourite, it would very difficult. “Everlasting God” is a favourite as a worship leader even though it is difficult for me to play, I just can’t get the tempo right. “How Can I Keep From Singing” is another favourite during car rides. I enjoy “Let Your Mercy Rain”, when just playing the guitar at home. You get the idea, I enjoy all the songs.
Out of all the artists, Chris Tomlin is my favourite. Not only for the songs he writes, but because of the availability of the songs. Over the years I have spent countless hours trying to listen and figure out the chords to many songs, this was before the days of CCLI’s Song Select Online. Song books are quite expensive and sometimes you only want one song from a book. You can find many songs that have been written out on the Internet, but not all of them have the right chords. Chris Tomlin makes his song sheets available for free download. Not only can you find song sheets, but he even has instructional online videos for free to view.
With a great CD, free song sheets, free learning videos, how can you go wrong?

How to Pray for Healing
“Bible-believing Christians certainly acknowledge that God is all-powerful. They use, without hesitation, the theological term “omnipotent” when describing God. However, we in [North] America sometimes have a difficult time bringing a practical application of this belief into our daily lives. Even in life-giving churches, the great majority of members rarely, if ever, see sick people instantly healed when they pray for them... read more
